Green Group has continued to file monthly permit checklists for the disposal site, despite the delays in facility construction.
The Black Mallard disposal site in Mountrail County, North Dakota, has been permitted but has not yet opened for business.
The planned facility sits on a 240-acre site and once open will accept waste from oil and gas production. There was public outcry on two local Facebook groups in 2015 (No Fracking Way Turtle Mountain Tribe and North Dakota Energy Industry Waste Coalition ) when the site was first proposed.
Green Group had previously proposed for this facility to be in Dunn County, North Dakota. The County Commissioner scrapped a rule that required consent of 60 percent of residents who live within a half-mile of the proposed property just a year before the vote.
Despite what seems like back door efforts of Green Group, that landfill permit was ultimately denied.READ Landfill controversy: Dunn Co. residents worry about consequences of proposed site
